How much memory do you have?

Just wondering how much memory everyone has on their computer.

I have 512MB and it's decent, but I really want faster, faster- LOL!

So how much do YOU have?
AND
Are you happy with the speed?

If you're not sure- this is where to find it (for XP anyway):
Start>Control Panel>System>General (at the bottom)

GREAT question! I would love to know what everyone has too!
I know NancyS will be on this LOL - soooo jealous of her

I have 768mb RAM and a 1.4 GHz AMD Athlon processor. I have enough ROM to spare that isn't an issue though with digiscrapping - it is all about the RAM!
I found PSP works much better since upgrading from 500something we had before- but I would always want more more more!!!

Well I was going to prepare a smart-alec answer - something about my memory getting smaller and smaller with the birth of each child, but anyway....

We recently upgraded to a new computer with one gig of ram. Big, no HUGE difference, although I can still see where more would be better lol. Especially when I am applying a filter to a 12x12 background!

Ha ha Dianne you took the words right out of my mouth!!! Exactly the sort of response that I was about to say.

On a serious note I do not have anywhere near enough memory for my needs & will be upgrading straight after Xmas - my poor 'puter is suffering & very sluggish right now.

I have 512mb ram with a 2 ghz processor. It's pretty decent but would love to see what 1gig of ram would feel like? I'm getting a rush just thinking about it

I feel a bit like the poor relation !! I only have 256mb and 1.8 GHz processor My DH did buy me an extra 1Gb recently but it was the wrong type for my PC so now its in his. Hmmmm, maybe he got the wrong type deliberately ......... I'm definately getting more RAM when I find out what type is compatible

Having kids definately does reduce your memory capacity too !!! LOL

I have a P4 running at 3.0GHz. I started out with using PSP 8 with 512MB and found it got pretty slow with more than just a couple of layers. I also noticed that I had very little free memory when working on a layout, so I figured that my system was swapping to the hard disk when I was working with a large file.

I added an extra 1GB of RAM (so now I have 1.5 GB) and it made a world of difference in PSP 8. However, when I upgraded to PSP 9, things slowed down a bit, but now its not due to a lack of memory.

I also found that with more memory I could burn DVD's better and at higher speeds. With 512MB, my system would sometimes start swapping in the middle of a burn and really slow things down.
