Look at my new little friend

Okay, I'm sooo not a snake lover, but my kids and I enjoyed watching this one slither around in the yard after my DH almost whacked him with the mower. I almost couldn't keep my three-year-old from going down there and seeing him up close. ("I loooove the snake mama.")Of course, now I think it's under my deck so I'm going to be paranoid. He's harmless I'm sure but he was about 6 feet long. I just keep reminding myself that he'll eat the mice and moles in the yard.

Well beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
I think he is a ratsnake, and he might be living under our deck. I'm not crazy about him being under there, but I hope he eats all the moles in the yard.

Goodness I just thought of something! What if he is a she and she's laying eggs under there.

oh LaWanna- I know exactly how you feel! My son LOVES snakes... he and his daddy want a pet one... I put my foot down on that one LOL

Anyway, while we were camping last summer we were near the water and we saw a snake swimming in the stream.. all of my kids screamed then ran back to the tent.. except my 7 yr old son, Robbie.. he walked right up to my husband who was holding the snake, and asked to hold it

When i was about 6 or 7 we had a gardener snake that lived in the crack on the front porch. Smarty pants brother who was probably only 3 or 4 at the time pick the thing up .... what to know what happened next? I had to pry the thing off of his hand... I would

I kind of like the snakes, as long as they are not rattlers and don't sneak up on me. I think it is going to be a snakey season around here. The kids at school found three bull snakes on the playground this spring.
