kittens 2 weeks

Yesterday the kittens where exactly 2 weeks old. The 3 remaining kittens had grown well and everything seemed to be just purfect

last week kitten Hera died at exactly 7 days old.....she was behind in growth so it was expected but it is never fun.

yesterday morning the kittens are exactly 2 weeks old.....
When I put them on the scale I noticed Hannibal's neck was dangling weirdly and he cramped up his legs in a very weird way. He lost a lot of weight in 1 night, and seemed to be in pain. I tried bottle feeding him, and after the feed he was purring and sleeping satisfied in the palms of my hands....The next 2 hours I left him in mommy's care to keep him warm and when I wanted to pick him out of the cage for his next feed I saw he was dead even before touching him.....

He had a broken neck......something that happens rarely

Now Sissel has 2 kittens left, and to be honest I'm terrified what will happen on their 3 weeks anniversairy, I'm so so sad....

I've burried the little boy in the garden, i'm so heartbroken over this, I didnt sleep at all I was to scared some other tragedy would happen....

credits.

How he broke his neck is a mystery to me, the dogs, other cats and the kids can not reach the kittens. They are in a special birth cage with a lock and all on it to keep mommy in and all others out....

That sounds so terrible. I'm so sorry to hear this has happened to your kittens.

We had dozens of litters of kittens growing up, and I've never seen one with a broken neck. I can only think that he had something wrong with him to begin with that would cause his neck to break more easily than normal. I'm sure that you did everything you could to take care of him.

That is a lovely memorial page.
