So sorry you have to do this. Unfortunately, I've had to do the same thing, only this time it was for my oldest dd's kindergarten teacher. Not a sub, the TEACHER! My dd has high-functioning autism and this teacher just couldn't handle it (all it would have taken is a little kindness and patience). I had parents come tell me they "overheard" the teacher yelling at my little girl, calling her "stupid" "baby" and other mean things. Other kids in the class told their parents what the teacher was doing, too. Can you believe it took us MONTHS to get our daughter out of that class. It took a lot of paper work on our part and "kissing up" to the principal to get our story believed. What really made us angry was that when this teacher retired a few years ago, the school and PTA threw her a huge party and had a big write-up in the newspaper about what a wonderful teacher she had been. I've run into so many parents who had similar experiences to our own with this particular teacher, but then also others who refuse to believe this teacher could do any wrong. If I had friends whose children had been mistreated by a teacher, I would tend to support the friend and their child, not the teacher. You can bet that from when this happend on, I make sure the teachers my kids have are wonderful and caring. I won't stand for meanness when it comes to children!
Okay, off my soapbox now.... Stick up for your son, LaWanna! Good luck!
