How great for you to discover some more roots! What a treasure of a photo to have! It is probably hard for your mother because she has her family and is maybe a little bitter about your father. I hope that one day she can realize that these people are your family no matter what even if she doesn't want to be a part of them and respect the fact that you do. Wonderful layout too!

I think it is always good to find out about your family. People in the past were not as open about things as we are these days, so many things were hidden away. I know absolutely nothing about my mother's family. There was a cousin who supposedly did the whole heritage investigation, but I can't locate her. I had an address years ago, but there isn't anyone there now. I'm hoping I will find a thread someday! So congrats to you! I think it will be healing for you to talk to your father's sister. It might explain a lot of your father's behaviour to you! It doesn't change the past, but it helps to understand it! Good luck!

Well the story continues at this point another niece, and 1 of his sisters both contacted me. We exchanged some facts like birth dates parental names and such to see if everything was correct and in 2 weeks I'm gonna meet up with my aunt and my nieces. I'm so excited. My aunt has loads of old pictures that I can borrow from her to scan, loads with my father on them as a child. I can't wait and am truly excited.

I'm so happy you all understand how I feel. Lynn your so right she's very bitter about my father and his family.

But it's great to get some inside on how my father was as a kid, I might even understand why my DS has these weird moodswings constantly...
