oh, I so feel for you! My son had reflux and colic for about six months -- we tried everything, but nothing really worked for us except time! Hang in there sweetie -- it is so hard and stressful when they are crying, but it doesn't seem to do them any long-term harm!!!!!

Oh I totally sympathise - Simariah had 'colic" which was eventually diagnosed as reflux. When she was finally put on an antiacid it made a huge difference. If colic continues for more that 6 weeks go and see your DR about the possibility of reflux. She also slept way better in a bouncy seat so she was partially upright rather than lying down which also helped alot.
Here's hoping it ends soon

i will call dr tomorrow, that is about the only thing we haven't tried! I mean ds was colicky and we did go to dr and it wasn't reflux but she is drooly and spitting up more the last few weeks almost like she is teething at 13 weeks, it is beyond crazy.

She wants to be held at all times and for awhile there it was the only way I could get any sound sleep and she hates her carseat so going anywhere is just totally a nightmare ( I have to drive ds to and from school everyday.. whoopie! she screams both ways unless she is asleep).
off to read a bit about reflux, thanks everyone for your kind words and ideas.

Don't worry Dani, it will pass. It's easy to say now, but I remember the day oh so well. I think I am at the "lull" stage in my kids' life right now (ages 7 and 12), but everyone keeps telling me that the sleepless nights return again here in a couple years. Just what you wanted to hear I know!

I have 100% sympathy for you. I had ds have severe colic and dd had severe reflux. Is it any wonder my tubes are tied?
sprauncy has great advice- I wore ds in a sling just about 24/7. He loved being crunched up in that. dd- hated it, put too much pressure on her tummy. But if you haven't, def. try that.
Another thing to try is Roman chamomile essential oil- very expensive but worth every cent. Put one drop of Roman cham into 1 tbsp of base oil (grapeseed, sweet almond- even olive oil will work, just not mineral/baby oil) Mix well and use a tiny bit to massage the abdominal area in a clockwise motion. You can also put a few drops of R cham oil in a bowl of warm water and put it under the crib at night- just make sure the baby can't get into it when awake.

Good luck- it is hell, but it does go away. And try to sleep when ever you can- sleep deprivation has been used as torture and can cause psychosis- as I am sure you realize!
