Losing it

Okay lots of girls have the resolution to lose weight. So let's stick together and help eachother through the rough moments.
I started the 1st of january. Boy was my MIL pissed that I didnt want to eat her salads and such


I've exchanged:
candy with fruit
soda with water
white bread with crackers
peanutbutter and jelly with chicken filet and low fat cheese

and then offcourse no more snacking during the day, no more chocolates

and I took the spiderwebs of my step machine, and I step 3 times a day for 5 minutes!

So what have you been doing so far and did you have a little succes allready?

Great thread Carin!

We got a great deal on a treadmill over the holidays, so starting on the first, I have been walking 15 mins in the morning and evening, and trying to eat smaller portions, drink more water etc.

Next week I will move up to 20 mins.

I gained weight over the holidays because I stopped going to the YMCA for the month.

So now I'm back, and hope to report a downward weight trend soon.

I know that i gain weight quickly if I eat too many carbs (of which I'm addicted).

So, I have to cut back on that, I know for sure.

I've started cutting excess fats (like mayo on my sandwiches, etc) and less snacking with the kids. The hard part for me is that there is always someone eating since I run a daycare. I also got a gazelle and am alternating using that, my treadmill, and my bike. I have to say that the gazelle is a real easy workout and I tend to stay on it longer than I would on the other machines. So that plus a bit of stress and I'm down five pounds.

Oh, me too, I've been following my Weight Watchers on-line religiously the last three days. I splurged tonight (you get extra points to use as you wish during the week), by having one (yes, ONE) piece of pizza, and saved some more points for snacks over the weekend. I need to exercise, but it's just not happening, yet!

I had a daycare for 6 years and this is actually when I lost the most weight (45 pounds), because I was so so busy and on my feet all day long. One thing I did, was always feed the kids at the same times (breakfast, snack, lunch, snack). I don't know if that is doable for you, but I found that chewing gum or during lunch I would even wear those whitening strips on my teeth. The kids laughed at me and I kept from eating their tatar tots.

Well girls i'm becoming a calorie machine. I bought me a little stripe yourself slim diary. It has a calorie table in the front and you have a page for each day, where you can stripe off in 6 different foodgroups

So far I'm doing great! It's getting addicted to stripe of everything.

This morning my scale made me so proud I lost 2 pounds yihaaaa!!!!!

'only' 30 more pounds to go!!!!

Those are all great tips. I bet I'd have super white teeth by the end of it. Maybe I'll just dazzle everyone with my smile so they overlook my large backside.
