Need a Better Mouse!

I have notoriously bad luck with mice! Both the 4-legged and cordless varieties! I have put another one to rest after barely over a month - seems to want to scroll up and down but resists going sideways all of a sudden. Although I'm getting fairly adept with my laptop's touchpad, I m not liking it much. ANYONE have any they just love and wouldn't live without? WOuld a gaming mouse be a good option or corded verses cordless? There are justso many choices available, so I thought I'd go with the folks who do what I do, aren't trying to sell me anything, and who's opinions I really trust! Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear of your bad luck with mouses. I prefer to use the corded mouse with my laptop because those darn things seem to run out of batteries at the worst time. I'm currently using a memorex optical mouse that I've had for 5 years.

When I'm on my desktop, I use the mouse that came with my wacom. So far, no problems - its been 2 years now.

Darn mice!
I have been a HUGE fan of trackball mice, they are harder to find but I swear they saved me from terrible carpel tunnel. I prefer the thumb controlled trackball by Logitech.
Now that said, people who have never used one will HATE it, they do take a little getting used to but I did all my designing with it before I got my wacom.
GL!!

I have an a cheap little Labtec mouse that I got over a year ago that I simply love. It is cordless and optical, and since I have small hands it works perfectly. I do go through a ton of AAA batteries, but I love it.

Our mice seem to live forever, but DH gives them a good cleaning on a regular basis. He also loves his cordless optical right now, and we found it works best on a solid color mousepad (refused to work well on a patterned surface). PM me the model info of your mouse and i will see if there are some simple tricks to get it to work for you.

And thanks Dani for the reminder of a trackball... now just to grab mine from my old computer and install the drivers.

DH got me a cordless optical microsoft mouse for Christmas last year - I LOVE IT!! It takes 2 AA batteries which I change maybe 4 times yearly!! It is a higher end one - but well worth it!! Can't say enough about it!!

Yes you do need to clean mice alot, I use my wacom mouse with the forward and backward clicks when browsing and love it! I would be lost without it. It also is battery-less and cordless. I use my tablet all the time , I am LOST without it. If it goes I will def replace it in a minute.

I love my wireless Microsoft Intellimounse. It's optical, slides great... and it has a thumb button that turns on a magnifiying area.! It's great for doing detail work in graphics!
i change the 2 AA rechargables about 4-6 months apart.

anyway, now that i sound like a commercial... that's my fav mouse!
