Exclamation Off to Disney next week - suggestions? Have-to's? TIPS?

I know lots of you have probably been and found out "after the fact" that you shoulda done this or shouldn't have done that.... what is your "you have to....."

I've been LONG LONG ago when I was 18 and of course don't care what you bring, if you get wet, etc. but this time - bringing both kids - 10 and 5....

Would love input!

We are staying at the All-Star Movie Resort.

THANKS!

and a few tips from Jen Wilson the other night: (she just got back)

BUY/BRING AHEAD OF TIME:
Ponchos, hand-held fan/mister.... they do have them at Disney but you will pay a TON for them.

Study the transportation before you go . Print of the events schedules from the web sight so that you can plan a little. It take so long to go from one place to another. We wasted so much time traveling becuse we had no idea what to expect. We had only ever been to Disney land. I would most definitely think ahead. It will save you tonzzzzzz of time. Also they usually will have listed on the schedule what rides are closed. Oh and just an fyi. MGM studios was our fave and we had only a little time there becuse we did not plan ahead. I think that epcot needs 2 days and definity stay for the night it is always cool.

It has been about 9 years since i went but i think this advise stands the test of time hehe

Now if you where going to Disney land i could wright you a novel.... hmmm maybe i should lol

If you plan on having your kids collect autographs from the characters I would recommend creating a little book before you go. The ones in the park are kind of flimsy and fairly pricey.

I've always been told the best way to see the parks is to visit them in the morning, then go back to your hotel room at noon to swim or relax, then head back to the park in the late afternoon. We live a little south of Orlando and have had pleasant evenings here, doesn't get dark till after 8:30pm, so I'd say it would be a good idea to be out of the heat at noon, then enjoy the pleasant evenings. If you get tired of Disney, we have great beaches down here, you can come visit us!
