The Dinosaur ride is a little scary for kids- but as an adult you can probably handle it. There is a part where a dinosaur comes out of nowhere and almost lands on your car (it seems). It will make you jump. But since I told you about it- you can be ready. It is a cool attraction.

A week should be plenty of time to see it all- buy hoppers!

You will have a blast Amy
I went on the dino ride, and i was large and pregnant, and all the kids went on it.. not scary at all.

When we went i was 8.5 mos pregnant and it was aug.. so probably not the best time for my waddling butt!!!

A few things we learned were..

disneys public buses are a godsend, use them use them use them!!!

Are you getting a ultimate park hopper passess? We got those and we would spend our days in the waterparks, then go back to the hotel around 4 change have dinner and then head to a park. You injoy the parks so much better after it cools off.

Make meal reservations ahead of time at least 48 hours ahead of time, if you try and eat on the fly at a resteraunt you could be waiting up to 3 hours if you get in at all.

All major rides let you off in a ride shop. I don't know about your kids but mine always want something in every store. We made a deal with the kids.. at the end of our trip we would take them to Downtown disney and buy them 1 toy, whatever they wanted. This saved us so much money, and lots of tears. my 8 year old got a stuffed mikey and my 6 yearold bought a power ranger..

Food there is so expensive! We would have breakfast in the hotel, and because we were going to a water park we would just get burgers and hot dogs there, then save our big meal money for our nightly meal! It seemed to work out good.

I didn't catch if you were driving? if you are.. take a wagon.. one of the kids can sit in it when they get tired and you can pack it full of water

hth
Jess

we went umn gasp 17 years ago. my last trip there with my grandparents. we carried a backpack with the essentials and took turns carrying it. in the backpack we had 3 black garbage bags. When it rained, everyone ran to the buildings and the ponchos mystriously lost their discounted sale signs. but we ripped holes in the garbage bags for our arms and eyes and to breathe and grandpop had his head out of his since he had a hat. It wasn't stylish, but we were laughing as we saw everyone huddled in the shops and restaurants and we walked from ride to ride and stayed dry.

it was the worlds cheapest and smallest poncho and when it stopped raining we just threw them out. also great if you unexpectantly need to bring back something the kids got messy. one of the strange essentials that my grandparents always took to the park.

Hmm good tip. I have a poncho for everyone that I bought at a dollar store for .50 cents each they are about the size of a package of fruit snacks. and i just keep them in the first aid kit. then just buy new ones if we use them.

Another thing i always take is a first aid kit. My new fave is one that i just got at walmart. for $18.00 It has little packages of everything. Then i add little packs of meds that are special to our fam or for the kids ( they dont put kids meds in) I use bead bags tiny Ziploc bags made to store beads. ( get them at a craft store or walmart) and i copy the info off the back of the box. And tape it to the outside of the bag. So i always have what i need know what it is and if someone else need something they can read the 411 on the product. Each baggie carys just a few of the item. I try to get everything in chewable.

I also have a list of everything that came with and that i have added to the kit so that after a trip i can refill. I keep this in the car when we are at home. It is good for on the go and the girls can find the band aids and use them all up ( i dont keep the stuff anywhere in the house anymore . Our dolls have more first aid stuff on them then my kids will in there lives lol )

DisneyWorld Travel Agent Tips

Take in the Character Breakfast at the Contempory Resort. Huge Buffet and lots of times to choose from (best to reserve in advance). Take advantage of the Disney Guest Benefit "get in an hour early" at the Magic Kingdom. At all the parks here's my big tip...........while it's habit to go "right" try going left..........usually this will gain you the most time!! Also, make an evening reservation at the "Hoop de do Revue". Kid and Adults love this home style BBQ dinner and hoedown show! Fun fun. Have a blast.

Hey Amy, my sil works for Disney and when we lived in FL we went quite often to Disney World. I haven't been in a few years now..but here's a few of our old tips:

MGM was the BEST place for us to get LOTS of character signatures. We never did a lot of the attractions there, but would spend a little time in this park just to get a bunch of autographs and then move onto other parks. Another great place for autographs is in character restaurants while you're cooling off and eating. :-)

Make your own autograph book ahead of time, but make sure it has PLENTY of room. I actually just took scrapbooking paper and cut it up into nice autograph size pieces then put the autographs with a pic of dd wand the character into a character scrapbook I made later. Also, bring your own pen (and a few) cause the ones they sell with the Mickey head constantly crap out!

My SIL always says DO NOT GO TO MAGIC KINGDOM ON SATURDAY. Everyone goes on Saturday, so do a water park, animal kingdom or something smaller on Saturdays.

I agree with other comments about Animal Kingdom..we always spent the least amount of time there.

Yes...get park hoppers so you can move about the parks when you want. It will be REALLY hot right now, so def consider taking a break at the hotest time of the day, even if it is moving to a water park, inside activities, or back at your hotel. My dd took a nap about the hotest times and we'd just go get lunch or something to cool off while she napped. It is so much more enjoyable if you rest and don't get overheated.

I can give my sil and see what else she might think of..it's been a few years since we went. :-)
Have a GREAT time..we're going to be going next year in July. :-)
