HELPPPPP i am having a brain freeze. i cant for the life of me remember how to play these games. And of course i am the one in charge of figuring it out. I remember bits of both but not enough to get the games going. All i remember is that they where tonz of fun...... So anyone remember how to play and want to share?

Here's my best recollection, LOL!! We played 7up in grade school-seven people are "it" and stand at the front of the room. Everyone else puts their head on the desk. Then the seven each tap someone on the head (they put up their hand so everyone knows they've been tapped). Then everyone puts their head up and the 7 tappees get 1 guess to guess their tapper. If they guess correctly, they replace the tapper.

Upset the fruit basket -everyone sits in a circle with just enough chairs except for 1 person in the middle. I think beforehand you assign 3 or 4 groups based on fruit names. The person in the middle wants to get a chair so they call out a fruit (eg apples) and all the "apples" have to switch seats during which the middle person tries to get in an an empty one. If the middle person says "Upset the fruit basket" then everyone has to find a new seat. You can't move to the seat on either side of the one you were sitting in. Whoever is the one without a seat ends up being the new middle person.

Ahh, the good ole days of Heads Down Thumbs Up 7 Up. I remember it how Amy told you, except we put our thumbs up. Each of the seven would pick one person and push their thumb down. No head tapping for us .

I've never heard of the Fruit Basket game though.

yep we did the thumbs too- that's the only part I remember LOL

the other game we called "fruit basket upset" kinda backwards I guess haha!

I remember playing these when it was someones birthday at school.

Ha, I remember 7 up too! Just like Mirranda said. Never played the fruit basket one, but I remember playing the Farmer in the Dell, similar, and Red Rover, Red Rover. I was a little weakling though so I always got picked on. Are you planning a party Jess, having a big family picnic or something? Have fun!

My dd will be going to a new school this year. It will be new for everyone due to the fact that it is not even built yet lol. but one of the big goals with the school is to make it more of a community. Smaller class sizes and less classes per grade. This is going to be a big family picnic so that the kids can get to know each other a bit before school starts. Trying to make it less scary. I am over the k-2nd graters. They told me the games that had been voted on i just have to make sure that i know how to play lol


Thank you for the reminder Lady's. we also did the thumbs up. I remember hoping that whoever picked you just put your thumb down not pounded it down .OUCH !
