Cool Fly Lady

Fly Lady.. Anyone interested??
if you haven't heard of it read here: Flylady.net
I thought since school will be starting soon it would be a good time to get organized now.

I don't have a routine and I know it has gotten out of control. I clean and clean but nothing gets finished, then I get irritated and bummed that my house is a mess the next day.

So anyone with me???
I started with day 1.. sink is so shiny I don't want to use it now.. hmm how about going out to eat or is that cheating?

I tried doing that a while ago, but I got fustrated w/the amount of e mails....maybe I will sign up again. Like you, I get so fustrated w/my messy house. Then I have plans to start cleaning a room and get so overwhelmed w/how messy it is that I give up LOL

She is good. I did it for awhile but like Beth began to drown in the emails. I have retained the throw out so many things a day, pick a room and make it the major clean of the month. Go for it Dani! It does work.

My problem isn't cleaning its keeping it clean for more then 5 min. I have even gone to the extent of putting up signs all over the house (no dishes in the sink, rince dishes, dont leave stuff on the counter, the couch is for sitting, ect...) but somehow they forgot how to read.. It makes me mad cause I clean all day and before I go to be its like I did nothing. I dont have a huge family its just me my boyfriend and his 10 year old daughter oh and we have to yorkie-poos. (They never make a mess) I dont know if this will help me but I'm up for anything making cleaning easier to do. (since it seems like thats all I do) Sorry a little bitter today after cleaning again for the second time (its only 4:00 pm)

I've tried Fly Lady twice and gave up- way tooooo many emails. There is an option to select when you are signing up that you can receive all of the days emails in ONE email That might make it easier. I found it hard to follow the program since I work. Give it a go Dani. Hope it works for you.

Hey Dani

I am flybaby! I found that if the emails got to be too much... then just to visit her website instead... she has all the routines right there on her site, you don't really need to get all the emails

My morning consists of:
5:30 or 6:00 wake up, get coffee, sit at PC and do SBB customer service
7:00 am - feed kids
7:30 unload dishwasher and reload with breakfast dishes
8:00 exercise
8:45 or so take a shower
9:00 get dressed to shoes, hair and make up, make bed, gather dirty clothes, start a load of laundry, and fold the load I just took out of the dryer

This takes me to about 10:30 or 11:00 (depending on how many kid inturruptions I got)

*note* all times are approximate

now my whole morning routine is done and I can do other stuff.... house stuff, scrapbook stuff, etc - I am not a slave to my schedule, but it is nice to have one so that on days when I don't really want to do anything..... I have a plan.

I know that you want your house clean right away... don't get burned out doing that.. but REALLY you need to do babysteps! Start with your morning routine.. even if there is clutter everywhere do the morning routine, and a bed time routine too... then only spend 15 min doing other decluttering for a while... cause I promise you that if you try to much at once you will give up and you won't be any better off than before (don't ask me how I know )

You can do it!

And, Dani, if you want encouragment through out the day, just beep me... we can "work" together... you can do it!

OMG Jen, I thought I was the only one who did this! I even put one in the bathroom "did you flush?" But my DH and 14ry old kept taking them down. LOL

I've tried Flylady - and I like her tips, but since I WOH, I could never keep up.

ETA: One of her big things is getting rid of the clutter - I did it in the kitchen, REALLY slimmed down in there, it has stayed that way for almost 2 years now, and its one of the only rooms in the house that is always organized (notice I didn't say clean lol) I've started doing it in the kids rooms, taking a few toys at a time, if they don't miss them I take a couple more.
