Question Would/Do you trust ebay ink refills?

I need a color cartridge for my Lexmark z52. Those suckers are SO expensive! So I looked on e-bay, and sure enough, there are people selling factory-sealed retail color cartridges, but there are also "Factory ink" refill packages - he says it is the same ink as factory ink, the same stuff that fills the retail cartridges. He has 100% positive feedback and almost 3000 feedbacks. It doesn't look too difficult or messy or anything.

Do you trust e-bay refills? Do you trust refills at all?

I've never bought off e-bay but I refill my cartridges myself all the time. I bought a kit at Sam's Club almost a year ago and its still working. You do have to replace the cartridge every few fills though. Saves a lot of money!

Trinity-

I have a Lexmark Z52.....and I think i ruined it by using refurbished ink in it. The print quality USED to be the BOMB, but now....my black tends to bleed, and my color doesnt print properly unless i clean the print head with alcohol before using. But hen again, I have only used one factory cartridge of each since i used the refurbished ones.

I dont trust ANY refills anymore, but thats just me. I've found the best price for cartridges at the Lexmark web page. They have the High Yeild Color cartridges that I can not find around here anywhere. Its only $12 more per cartridge, but I've been able to print almost double what the standard cardridges will....and the black will print almost 3 times as much for the same price I pay for a standard cartridge at Walmart. They also have a photo cardridge that I've never been able to find here, not without special ordering.

Lexmark Ink Cartridges
(the Z42 & 52 use the same ink cartridges)

Good Luck......if you find a refill or refurbished cartridge that works good, let me know.....i am ALL about saving money!!!

The cartridges for my Epson 1280 have a smart chip so they remember they are empty even after I refill them. Since that doesn't work, I've been buying Epson-compatible cartridges from a company I originally ordered from off of Ebay.

I have a cousin who has been using the cheap cartridges off Ebay for a least a couple of years and she hasn't had any problems at all.

refill....

I bought a refill kit and love it. The only problem I had was when I initially put the black ink cartridge back in. I had not replaced the color one and for some reason the black didn't work as well. But once I got new color ink too, it was all good.

It an be messy if you are not careful, but just follow the direction and it should be fine. I have an HP deskjet and refilling was no problem. Maybe it just depends on the printer.

I either got my refill kit from WalMart or Target. It is a very common one. As with anything, sometimes you don't know until you try. But those darn cartridges are OUTRAGEOUS. When you use a lot of ink, refilling can definitely save you money.

Well, I got a refill kit at Costco for about 16 bucks, and although I overfilled the black cartridge and made a little bit of a mess (OOPS!) it was easy and cheap and the prints look perfect.
