I say soda...when I first heard "Pop"...I didn't know what the lady was talking about!

Anyways I rarely drink soda...I mean maybe once every other year.

I vote for water!!

hey what's ever on sale diet coke or diet pepsi -- lol i used to be just a DC girl, but now like shannon, i'm a switch hitter -- saddly, i'm an ice chewer and have to have my crushed ice with my SODA -- i used to call it POP when i lived in wisconsin, moved to AZ, and people would just look at me cross eyed. Kinda like when I would say "time for SUPPER" instead of "time for DINNER" I say supper now to my kids sometimes when my midwesterness takes over, and my kids just say "HUH"????? Same thing with POP " --

anyways, that went off tangent --

gimmie a sale on Coke, and i'll take it and stock up -- same with Pepsi if they are BOTH on sale, I don't know, don't put that kind of pressure on me!

Of the 2 mentioned, I prefer Coca-Cola. My drinks of choice though are Mt. Dew and Dr. Pepper (not Mr. Pibb, there's a difference).

And for the most part, Coke refers to all soft drinks where I live. HeHe

Hey Gibbous-

That's so cool, you started another string right inside the first one.

I'm a west-coaster too, and I think most of us say soda, but we would know what pop means. It always sounds kind of funny to my ears though.

Thanks for having fun with this post. It's fun to get to know everyone. Lately my kids are asking for fresh lemons to put in their sodas. They mostly drink diet, and they got on the kick like Suzanne Walker with the lemon. I know it's not good for me, but I just like the regular ol' soda. I'd like to convert my family like Gibbous suggested to Diet Rite, but I think I'd rather drink no soda at all then diet. I hate it that much.

Pop or Soda, Supper or Dinner it's all a regional thing.

I grew up calling the evening meal dinner and lunch was lunch. In Iowa dinner is lunch time and supper is the evening meal.
I moved to Iowa and learned to call it supper real fast. Picture it: The first week I'm here I make a new friend and am invited to dinner. After lunch time the next day I get a phone call asking what happen, how come I didn't show up for dinner. Oh, boy!
