SOS: Bunk Beds ... HELP

Ok. My two sons have moved into bunk beds (they're five and seven). Is there some secret I don't know about for changing sheets? How the heck do you get a fitted sheet on the top bunk? I know I'm a klutz, but I felt like I was doing pro wrestling against the bed today when I was trying to change the sheets!!

HELP

I've heard of a mom who has the child on the top bunk use a sleeping bag to avoid having to put a fitted sheet on it! Me, I'd try to get the child to put it on the mattress while he's on it -- have him sit at one end of the mattress, hook the corners onto the other end of the mattress, pull the sheet tight, hook the 3rd corner, go onto the ladder and hook the corner closest to it. I don't know if it would work since I don't have bunk beds (a 13-yr-old son and 6-yr-old daughter do not want to share a room!).

I hate having to change the top sheet on our bunk bed. A friend of mine puts a sheet and then they sleep in a sleeping bag on the top so the sheet has to be changed less and the children can easily just lay it our flat when they make their beds. I think we are heading that route myself.

ROFL....Man am I glad those days are done for me!!
I either had to crawl up there and start with the two back corners and work my way to the front back off the bed.
Or
I found it a lot easier once I slid those large type coasters under the legs of the bed then I could move the beds will a little bit of tugging and pulling, (mine were solid oak head and foot boards) but at least they moved and it was also a good time to kick all the discarded toys out from those hard to reach regions, not to mention all the socks, shirts, and anything else little boys collect before bedtime.
I was a horrible mom and my kids sometimes ate their snacks in their room while they played with lego's and such...cookies and crackers are a pain in the rear and makes having to change sheets more often also!! hehe
Good luck!!

Our bunk bed has railings for the top bunk. I remove the railing on one side. then lift a corner of the mattress off of the bed, so it sticks out in mid air. This gives me the room to work up there without hurting myself too much. but I hate standing on the bunk's ladder while changing it.
