So where is everyone from and tell us about yourself....

Hi Ladies,
I am very interested in knowing everyone a little better, so where are you from, how long married, how did you meet dh, how many kids, names, funnny story etc...

I'll start, my name is Becky and I've been married for six years. My childhood best friend introduced me to my dh. Chris (dh) and my friend best Melissa were co-workers. Melissa thought she would set me up with him, but never told me what her intentions were, so it took me 1 year to finally figure it out no one ever said I was brilliant :O)). So when I finally figured out her intentions I told her " Missy do you want me to go out with Chris"? she said "OMG it's about time you figure it out girl". We started dating and got married a little over a year after, I knew he was the one. So here we are 6 years later, 2 kids and living in Oregon, we are both from and met in New Mexico. We have 2 children, Ethan 1 1/2 years old and quite the stubborn child and Bryce 4 years old, Mr. Footloose and fancy free.

So for my funny story, this did not happen to me but my sister. I grew up in Santa Fe New Mexico, home of many super stars and one day Robert Redford walks in the the local Albertson's where my sis worked. So he gets into her line to pay, gives her a check and she asks for an id :O), she had no idea who he was, just doing her job. He did the whole "don't you know who I am", not snooty at all. So she get's home and asks my Mom, who he was, and told her what happened, she replied "I'm not going to get in trouble for him because I did not ask for an id, everone has to do it". :O).

So tell me about you...
Becky

Hi Becky! Thank for the chuckle with your story.

Here's an "all about me" page I made awhile ago. I'm not sure it's even readable at the gallery resolution....
All About Suzanne
Basically, there was a list of questions we had to answer. I don't have that list anymore, but I'm hoping some one else does.

I can tell a funny story from childhood. I loved mushrooms as a kid (go figure). My mom was doing yardwork in the front yard (waiting for my dad to return from a biz trip) and I was tootling around. I was only three years old so I didn't know why mom freaked out when I came up to her with fistfuls of poisonout toadstools saying, "look Mommy...mushrooms!" It didn't help that I was vigorously chewing on something and that my mouth was turning purple. Mom panicked and started shaking me screaming at me to spit out what I was eating. Of course, since I had done nothing wrong I got upset Mom was yelling at me so like a 3-year-old I clamped my mouth shut and wouldn't open it. Mom ended up picking me up by the ankles and literally shaking me upside down trying to force me to spit up. Finally, she laid me on the ground and pried my mouth open by hand. She reached in and pulled out............an enormous wad of grape hubba bubba. She forgot she had bought me the gum earlier that day. And of course I didn't eat the RAW toadstools. I brought them to my mom to cook for dinner. Duh!

Great idea Becky. With so many new members it'll be a blast getting to know them. Come out of hiding all you people and say "hi!"

I have an inhome studio also which is taking over the house so I plan to move soon just so I can have a seperate room for all this.

I don't think I have any really funny stories but my whole family is awfully wierd.

well i'm margie, in southern ohio with my dh, married for 6 years, 3-yr-old ds who we adopted from ukraine, and 5-yr-old dear dog who is bigger than our son and thinks she's human. i met my dh playing softball, our first date we watched a softball game, our second we watched a baseball game. we're kinda sports nuts here. our entire (long) adoption story is on my website at www.scrapster.com and is quite amusing at times. interesting for sure. funny stories? our life is a funny story. i may write a book one day. the term lundy luck has been coined here. *sigh* here are some of them if you're in the mood:

this is a picture of our crazy water leak from the upstairs bathroom. ceiling/floor it puzzled us and plumbers alike for a few weeks before we found the culprit. and by leak, imagine a waterfall from the ceiling clear thru the floor to the basement.

quit stealing our trash!

hand through the window

Hi My name is Julie...and I have an addiction..lol..

Yes seriously to computer scrapping, and these darn comptuers...

I live in a small mining town about 3 hours off the east coast of Australia in Queensland.

I met my dh in my last year of high school (year I graduated 1995) and married him in September 1997. The minute we hooked up we knew that we wanted to be together forever..lol..First date included a cosy sit on the lounge watching a movie..Was good at the time, but looking back now it was pretty crappy..lol..the movie that is

I have one half brother and a step sister and brother. I have no children, definately not through lack of trying, but do have a niece and nephew (who I can no longer see, mother left father and won't let us see the kids..way too longer story) and another niece or nephew due in Feb 04..CAN'T WAIT..more beautiful photos to scrap!!! I have two dogs, a jack russell (minnie) and a miny foxy (frazer).

I love watching movies and going to the cinema (theatre), reading anything by Patricia Cornwell or Sue Grafton, racing my dh with our r/c buggies, and my addiction...lol..Oh and spending my time with dh..

I am off tomorrow up north to spend a week with a dear friend. I am also off to the cinema (over 3 hours away) to watch Terminator 3 (for and with my husband..yuck) and then watch American Pie: Wedding..(VERY excited) and also before I come home from up north going to watch The Italian Job (also very excited)..and dying for Finidng Nemo to hit the shores!!! Please dont tell me about any of the movies before I go..lol..

Think that is about it..

Julie

Hi, I'm Amanda. I was born and raised in Utah but now live with my dh (of 5 years) and two kids (Taylor 3 1/2 and Carly 15 months) in Texas.
Dh and I met my freshman year of college. Our first date was Nov 1st. We were engaged January 18th and married May 26th. Not as fast as some...but pretty fast. We knew it was right, so why wait?
Dh will be starting graduate school in 11 days...so we are once again going to be poor college students. But, since I do all my scrapping on the puter...my hobby/life won't suffer...I just won't be able to afford to print for two years!

Funny Story? I tend to be a drama queen and always want to be the center of attention...so, when I was young I would gather all the girls my age and younger in the neighborhood and teach them a dance. After a few days of rehearsal we would invite everyone (formal invitations) to come and watch us. It was hilarious.

An odd fact? I have an incredible memory. My first memories are from before I was two years old. To this day, I can remember my grandfather's calling card number from when I was 10 years old. Strange...but true. So, dont' ever cross me...I never forget! LOL!

This is fun. I love "meeting" everyone

My name is Angie. I'm 24 years old and a Christian, which is a pretty big part of my life My dh Jeff and I met during the last semester of high school, got together the week before graduation and were married in '99. Four years later, we're as happy as ever and have a gorgeous 14 month old son, Joshua.

We live in New Brunswick, Canada, on the east coast...home of the highest tides in the world, and cheap fresh lobster almost year-round

I don't think I have a funny story, I live a pretty boring life, lol. I have to say, Margie, that your stories crack me up! You really should write a book

ok, amanda, your story about remembering your grandfathers calling card number reminded me that i know every single phone number that I've ever had --

Hi, I'm Kristie, i grew up till 14 in Wisconsin, moved to arizona to joina gym in arizona to go full force into gymnastics. Love the sport to this day.

I met my dh 12 years ago, I have 5 kids becca, 11, devan, 9, taylor 8 (devan and taylor are exactly 1 year and 3 days apart) (don't let anyone tell you that breastfeeding exclusivly is birth control lol) - nathan is 6 and connor is 3. 4 girls and a boy. Even our dog and 2 cats are girls (i'm sure the fish are too - lol).

Funny/interesting story - i was home alone after school when I was 6 when a tornado hit our house and tore off the chiminey -- i threw the cat in the basement -- called my mom and went accross the street to the neigbors house.

Everyone was fine, but the cornfield behind our house was destroyed along with the being built water tower.

I love my family and love to take photos of everything that they do. Which lead me to my addiction to scrapping and most of all computer scrapping. I love the family here at SBB -- life wouldn't be the same without them.

We enjoy family life -- we watch movies -- go for spur of the moement car rides to who knows where -- those are the best ones. My kids love beating dat at playstation (mom is no challenge -- what's a conroller anyways) -- my kids are wonderful, they know when something good is happening to come and get me to take a photo!!!

Well that's a LITTLE bit about me!!!

oh i'm 33 years young (now i don't say that outloud, so really i'm 29 -- FOREVER!!!) lol

Have a great day!!!
