Antiquing pictures issues

Am I the only one who hits "Antique" choice for pictures and the subjects are almost washed away? I love the sepia look but don't know of another way to get it other than the antique choice and as I mentioned, the results are not good. Thanks!

Have you tried increasing the contrast or threshold a little first? I'm not sure how DIP works, but making the darks darker and the lights lighter might help....

I know it does in PhotoImpact!

There is also a Sepia option in the built-in DIP filters... try that too... you can adjust the transparency, brush, etc......

When I used DIP I used the tint option and altered the brightness and contrast

Sam ething happens to me with the antique option .you can then adjust that by using teh touch up tools like brightness and contrast, or levels or you can adjust the tint or use hue and saturation.
the Sepia filter Effect>Filters >All filters>Sepia works better though and you can adjust the result easier to suit

I'm with you, I don't like the sepia filter

It makes my pictures look like they could glow in the dark. I'll have to try some of your suggestions.
