How do you create a button using DIP 7? I have used the stamp tool but then I need to change the color. I have tried to change the color using hue and saturation but sometimes I need to match it to an exact shade but it does not allow you to use the eyedropper tool. What do you do?

Hey Chelsea-

I use DIP v7. I've run into this problem before too. There are a few ways I've worked around it but a lot of the times it is more trouble than it is worth.

I have used the hue and saturation mode but that is a challenging way to get a color match.

Here is my suggestion: Create your stamp even with the mismatched hue.
Next duplicate your stamp. Then change the transparency so that it is about 50% and overlay it on top of the first stamp so that they are lined up exactly. Next click the top layer that is at 50% transparency and go to fill with color, more color selections and click on the color you are trying to match. Chances are you will have to do a little bit of tweaking with the color wheel to get it to match exactly because of the layer beneathe it. By doing it this way though you are able to keep the textured look of the button stamp. (I know the hue and saturation sometimes removes the textures as well as just trying to fill the stamp with color.) If you need to lighten it some you can add a third layer, behind the stamp of white. Then click the stamp and change it to about 40-50% transparent. It will help lighten it some but you will loose a little definition to the button if you make it too transparent.

Once you have the color you want group the three layers together so that they can be moved around without the hassle of trying to re-align them.
