Thsi question was asked in another thread ..I thought I would add it here for any enquiring minds to make it easier to find.
To get the effect i used in this layout
http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...cat=500&page=1 in DIP9 I first turned my pic B&W ( Effects>Black&White) Then I used Effects>Filters>all Filters > Pen:Line Drawing and tweaked teh advanced options til I got the effect I wanted.
To soften teh edges I used Effects>Transparency>Gradual and chose the round effect and flipped it
You can also tweak a few of the other effects. The results will depend on your picture and its tonal range. Adjust the advanced options til you get teh look you are after. The attched file shows examples of the filters under Effects>Filters>All Filters in DIP9

There is also a free plug in called Porcelain available through
www.xero-graphics.co.uk which reportedly looks great.
