Backgrounds

I am brand new to digital scrapbooking and very eager to get started! I have DIP 9 but just recently started playing around with it, so forgive me if this is a totally stupid question!

How do you get a downloaded background into your LO?

I don't use your program but in most programs you can either use the arrow tool and drag and drop it by opening the backround and a new document for your layout. then you drag the backround over. if it doesn't let you do that you can also copy the backround and paste it into the new layout. I hope that someone that knows your program comes along and can answer better for you

I hope I'm not being too over simplified. Once you have your open document, then go to Insert>Picture> (then you find your downloaded background on your computer) or you can find some in the gallery and click OK. I'm assuming you've unzipped the background (most downloaded elements or backgrounds come in a zipped file) Does that answer your question, or do you need to unzip the file first? I hope I've helped. I know what it feels like to be stumped on the simple things. This is a great site, people help soooo much. Enjoy. - Amy

If you don't have any backgrounds downloaded but you want to create one you need to go to
Insert>Shape>Square and then drag the square to fill the background size. the initial canvas that you see is just a guideline for the size of your layout and isn't actually a layer. It is like your table if you were paper scrapping... you have to set a sheet on top of it to get started.

To remove the black line from around the square go to line thickness>more>none.

I think Amy answered your question about the downloaded background though.

hope this helps
