making an image looked stamped

I know this was posted somehere but of course I can't find it now. How do you make an image look like a stamped image in DIP 7. I know it had something to do with turning it to black and white. Then applying some filter and then I am lost.

Hi Chelsea
You mean to get that uneven printed effect?
The way to accomplish that is to experiment with a filter such as Chalk: rough abstract or others.
Ive attached some quick examples to this message with teh effect sused ..hop eit may help you find the look you are after or feel free to ask any more questions.

it might depend on the photo you are trying to use also...

if you are talking about getting a stamped look by changing the photo to B&W sometimes you have to change the brightness and contrast before turning into B&W. ... Shelly may have answered your question though...

Turn the image to B&W, then Try Effects>Filters>Select All>Stamp:Woodcut Fine (or Rough) That will give you a stamped-looking image. The Fine version looks like a well-executed stamp, the Rough looks like one of my stamping attempts when I don't get enough ink on the stamp.....

Good Luck!
