Digtial Image Pro question

Does anyone know how to get rid of a white edge on an object.
I "cut" out a person using photoshop7 and brought it into DIP. Of course I had the white background, but when I took it out it left a strong white edge around the person. I tried to use a soft edge but that didn't work well.

Does anyone have any suggestions?????

THANK YOU for trying to help

See the answers on your other post for suggestions. Another thought: perhaps you could just start in DIP and do your original cutout in there??

Try zooming right in and clean up the edges with the erase brush
Effects>transparency>transparency brush and set the slider to 100% opacity an dthe edge to hard or soft edge as desired.

You could also try a second cut out
