Help using elements!

Hi! New member here. I have tried to download one zipped file (7 elements) and one "right click to save as" element. I cannot figure out how to get these into my layout page. Do I need to rename them with a different extension? My program started to close on me every time I acessed the zipped file. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Beautiful site!

You need to unzip them before trying to import them into your layout.

Question

Thanks Amanda. I did unzip the files, but should I name them something else in order to use them in my Microsoft Picture It! program? Also, the elements that say "download here", which are not zipped, just come up as a pop up window with the element on a background. What do I do then that will enable me to use the element? Sorry for so many questions--I am so new at this, and I'm SO anxious to get started!! Thanks again.

you shouldnt need to rename the files in order to use them.
how are you adding them to your lo?
what i usually do is go to add something and then browse for the element to add. if there is more than one thing on the page you'll just have to crop off the one you want to use. when you add it to your page the background should be transparent (even if it looks white when you download it).
