Unhappy DIP discontinued!

I have used and loved DIP as my digital scrapbook program and now Miscrosoft's home page says it has discontinued it's line of DIP products. Is there a program that is similiar that I can recommend to my friends? I'm so distressed about Microsoft doing this!!

I moved from DIP into Photoshop Elements very easily - although there are things I still miss about DIP it may be because I haven't practiced with PSE the way I had with DIP.

Yes, it's really disappointing. I began with DIP until I literally wore it out. I like recommending it to new digi-scrappers, because it's so intuitive but pretty powerful. I'd say stick with it until you just can't use it anymore.

If you need to move to something new, and you are very familiar with DIP, you might try PSE, like Silly has. It's not that huge of a transition. You might also consider ACDSee Photo Editor. It's in beta right now, so you can get it free, till July 15.

I heard about MS discontinuing DIP a few months back and I'm still sick over it! It's my main digital scrap program too. I actually own PSE6 and PSP XII and have found that PSP was a bit more user friendly for someone like me who only used DIP for years. I might add that I hate reading directions and don't have the patience to sit through tuts so my experience is strictly hands on and the similarity of the different features and menus compared to those in my faithful old DIP.

It doesn't mean you still can't use it. Digital Image Suite 2006 Anniversary is compatible with Vista.

I am really bummed that they chose to discontinue it. I think they really dropped a good thing.

I just can't get into PSe - DIS is just so easy for me to use. It seems like PSe really drags my computer down. I have quite a bit of RAM - and DIS runs fast and smooth. I am sticking with it for as long as I can.
