My DIP10 is dropping functions

HELP!!

I tried to insert shaped text into a layout and I get the following message:

The object cannot be inserted. It may not be set up properly or may have been deleted. Your computer memory may also be low. Close other programs, rerun Setup, and then try again.

I've been able to insert shaped text before. I have NOT deleted anything from the program. To check low memory, I closed down everything, restarted the computer, and ONLY had DIP10 running when I tried to do it again.

Am I going to have to uninstall and reinstall DIP10?

What's a girl to do??!!!

Ya sounds like a corrupt file
You can try and run scan disk which may correct the error - otherwise just uninstall and reinstall
Let us know how you go

I get that low memory thing a lot, too. It may be that your cache hasn't cleared. I went into my temp folder and found about 10 GB of temp files from LO construction just sitting there. They are supposed to dump, but they didn't. Try going to Start, all programs, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup and run that. See if it helps. You may have to go find them yourself in the temp folder.

I also noticed that elements and papers that are made in other programs sometimes cause a bug. I had this same thing happen tonight with DIS 2006. I opened a new file with a paper from a kit I knew was okay, then inserted the LO I was working on into it. Deleted the paper and saved under a new name. Worked like a charm after that.

Did you just install the new Windows updates? That gets it everytime, too, until they work the bugs out.

I get the "low memory" message a lot too. Usually when I'm working on a LO with several pictures, layers, and elements. I've found that if I close the pictures after I've inserted them into my layout it usually "fixes" it.

I finally got around to it... uninstalled, reinstalled, and now I can shape text. Go figure! Thanks for all the input. You ladies are the best.
