Unhappy Need help with Transparency background

I am new at DIP Suite 2006

I love the software, it's easy to work with and fix my photos but I can't find where to turn on transparent background so I actually see it. It is allways white!

I open a jpg file, with white background and a picture in it that I want with transparent background. With the magic wand I select the white areas and then press delete or going to the efects I choose transparency and turn it to 100%.

When I press accept the white background is still there!

If I save the picture in Png or Gif and then open it in other graphic software I can se the transparent background but not in DIP.

Can someone help me?

You can't get the same transparency grid like PS has. In DIP, when you open a new canvas it "looks" white but it it actually transparent. It would only really be "white" if you added a square, and stretched it out to fit.

Just to add. Once you have removed the white background with the magic wand, left click on the image and slide it to the side off the canvas. You will see that it really is transparent around it.

The actual canvas is always "white" looking. You can always just add a square, remove the line and stretch it to fit the canvas. Use the paintbucket on the toolbar to change the colour. When you've finished working on a image you can then just delete the coloured square before you save your work.
