Change picture background color

I've got a logo that has a color background and I'd like to make it (the entire background) a different color. I've tried to figure it out but no luck. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Bruce

I don't use DIP, but are you not able to select just the dark colors and copy them to a new layer and then delete the background you don't want?

Can you tell us which version of the program you have so the DIP experts can help you further?

Hi Bruce
You have three options
1) Use the Magic wand tool to select the background and then while still selected use Effects> Hue and Saturation to change the color
2) Use the Magic wand tool to select the background and then delete it and replace the background with another
3) depending on the subject, make a selection around the subject using the freehand or edgefinder tools, invert it and then delete or change the color of the background
If you need help with using selection tools then these tutorials should help

Thanks but I still can't find the paint bucket.

I use MS DI Suite 2006.

I've opened a picture and want to change the background using the paint bucket BUT when I do this I can't find the paint bucket nor the pictorial tools bar.

Suggestions welcomed.

Bruce

This may sound silly, but wasn't there a version where the paint bucket tool wasn't included? I can't seem to find one in the DIP that came with my MS Works Suite 2006, but I know that the version I have is just a bare-bones version.
