Picking up color from photo

In PSE, there was a way to pick up color from one object and apply it to another. For instance, if I clicked my little dropper on a blade of grass, I could then switch to a paint can icon and fill a background with the same shade of green. It was helpful for making really coordinated LOs.

I've been using DIS for over a year now (sporadically, since I'm in college full time and have three kids) and I still haven't come across a way to do this. I am finally competent enough in the software that I put together a LO using a template in about an hour (BTW, thanks for all the DIS specific templates in the store, Shelleyrae! They are so easy.) but I would love to match up my colors easily without depending on kit components.

Am I just missing the way to do this? How do you pull color from one item and apply it to another? I really prefer DIS because it is so intuitive.

Hi
It s a little bit different in DIS
Choose whatever you want to fill eg a white background, drag the photo you want to match a color to on the same canvas.
Select the object eg background you want to fill and go to Effects> Fill with color or texture> More color choices and then move the cursor (which will turn into a eyedropper) over the photo - click the color and voila

These tuts on coloring in DIP should help too
There are 4 listed on this page http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/cgi-s...index_35.shtml

Glad you have enjoyed the templates

Thanks for the explanation. That is simple to do and will help me finish this page.

I just noticed that it's the first Tuesday of the month. I will be in a microbiology lab when it starts. If I pop into the chat room 2 hours late, will the information still be there?

Never mind my question. I found the chat information on the schedule and see that the crop will end before I get home. No biggie. I will try one of the later night crops.
