Question Help with Templates and Digital Imaging Programs

I am totally new at this digital scrapbooking, I have made a few pages with plopper and now I want to try some templates. I am using Microsoft Picture it 9 or Microsoft Digital Imaging Standard 2006 Editor. I have read the titorial on Scrapbook Byes on how to use a template but none of the programes I have seem to have a Fill with texture or color effect. If need be I will buy a new program, but I am unsure of which one to get. I have little to no time with a 12 month old and 3 year old, so the new program would have to have little to no learning curve. So I guess my question is am I doing something wrong with the titorial, because it says they were using Picture It? Do I need a new Program? Which one?
Thanks
Christee

Not sure exactly which version you are working with, but I do know that the DIS that came with my Microsoft WorkSuite 2006 does not do everything that the full-blown programs do. I'm an adobe user, so can't offer much help... but DTM Shelleyrae will be back online this evening to answer technical questions for you (and possibly some of our other members may post a reply too)

If you like using the program you have, I would suggest just buying a newer version of it. No point in trying to learn a completely new program if you are happy with what you have (well except for the missing tools). More info about the program can be found in the DIP forum, so I am going to move this thread into that area.

HI - the version you have that came with the computer is not the full version and so is missing many of the main tools - I answered in the other thread what versions you should be looking for
