First Time here.. 1 question I promise. long Intro. tee hee.

First of all i am very very new and just joined you all and am just kinda getting my fingers and toes wet into all this stuff and very anxious to get into it and have bought a copy of this cause i have heard it is a good starter to start with and then get into something like photoshop after you get the hang of it. I am not that smart...tee hee..and have a little one which time is a issue here at home but have a ton of pix that i would love to scrap and have paper scraped for a long time and would love to get into this. So i hope i have come to the right place. But as far as my question goes, ? Can i use this program to transfer my pictures also, i have a Kodak 710 just got my second kodak i love them and this was my big xmas gift with a new dock for xmas but i hate there software and refuse to use it. so i am counting on using it to transfer my pictures also i bought it on ebay and it hasnt came yet it should be here by tues. or wend. , so i do have adobe photoshop 4 that is what i have been using in the past but just cant learn it and that is what i have been using to transfer my pictures but like a big dumby i deleted it but saved all my pictues in my folders of course. so i am hoping that ms digital. , will do the same as photopshop did. i just couldnt get the hang of photoshop at all. so i am hoping i can get the hang of this one but i have been doing alot of reading and been on microsofts website reading there community boards ect. so hopefully i will any imput would be great. thanks and i hope to meet alot of you all.

Hi Julie. Welcome to SBB and DIP.
You can use DIP to import your photos. You can also import them onto your computer by using a card reader. I don't use my camera's software at all. I prefer to import my pics straight into the photo folder on my C drive and access them from there.

DIP/DIS is quite easy to learn and you'll find lots of tutorials here in the DIP Tut section. What version did you buy?

There's always people here to help you with any questions you may have so feel free to ask away.

HI Jewel
Yes you can use Digital Image to transfer you photos. You simply open Digital Image and choose File> Import Pictures, or you can use the library depending on what version of Digital Image you purchased.

You might however find it a lot easier just to use XP to transfer your photos. Its easy and you wont nee dto rely on third party software to do it.
This article tells you how http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u.../transfer.mspx

Thank you both for the wonderful reply's

Thank you again for the warm welcome,
I bought version 9 and i was wondering how do you get yours into your c drive? with the card reader? i guess i knew that but i just thought if i had a program that would do it for me that would be one less thing i would have to buy, my kodak printer also has a reader on it i have that new kodak easyshare printer 500 with a cardreader right in it so that will transfer them like a card reader i am thinking without using the kodak program i think i am not sure. i should try that. thanks again for replying i am gonna love it here. you guys are so wonderful i have been lerking here for a long time just been very shy to jump in......... julie..
