LMBO Jana! I'm following you! I 'think' this is where I read that it's the same thing, but I'm not positive. I'm sure someone will know!

The Annivarsary edition is nothing more than a reboxed version of the 2006 edition with a few savings coupons included. The RAW capabilities were also removed. I (think anyway) that it is Vista compliant but there is also a patch available from MS to make the previous version Vista compliant so that's not a real issue.

I'd recommend either DIP10 or DIS 2006 SUITE if you are thinking of upgrading. If you go for the 2006 edition, make sure you get the SUITE version. The standard version is dumbed down and you can't use plugins with it.

Thanks Kim. That's kinda what I thought. I am using DIP10 and I guess I will stick with it until they come out with a REAL new version.

I love it with MS does that haha. I felt the same way when DIP changed to DIS. I wondered if the software side was that different. I ended up with a copy of DIS 2006 and just had to laugh the first time I clicked on "open with" and saw that DIP 10 and DIS 2006 are listed both as Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10. There are a few changes in the DIS version but they are small and honestly not worth the upgrade price.

I'd like to see Microsoft come out with a version of DIP that has brush capabilities - here's to hoping until then I'll just have to use PS hah.

I know my students would love to see some major changes to DIP (as would I) but I don't think Microsoft has the same vision for "WHAT" DIP can do as we do as Digi Scrappers!

If I right click an image file and choose "Open with" it shows:

Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10
Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006 Editor

A DIS version that uses both brushes and actions would be great. Also the ability to make individual layers either visible or invisible like in PS would be good too. Also, having shadows on a separate layer so we can manipulate them more would be great.

I would love to be able to do text on a path in DIS 06, and more realistic shadows! Sigh... maybe one day
