Looking to type a few words and then use something to make it look embossed on the paper - any instructions for me?

You can use Filter> Emboss> herbal, subtle or abstract but the results arent great - a plug in achieves a better look.
There are a few you can pick up for free.

Thanks Shelleyrae for the confirmation that DIP's filters don't do the trick. I had tried all of the ones you suggested. Will M/S ever come out with a new version to do some of the things PSE does???? I have the PSE program but don't commit to learning it - I keep going back to DIP instead. What FREE plug-in would do the trick?

I havent tested any of them because I use EyeCandy but if you google "8bf free filter emboss" you get a few options to try
