Do you have the DIP suite (with library)? That is used for organizing but I can't tell you how because I haven't taken the time to get mine organized. Alot of people also use free photo organizers from the internet. I really need to spend some time organizing. I think I would be more productive if I knew what I had. Right now, I print the kits out and put them in a binder under my favorite designers names.

Make Lots Of Folders

I have a lot of embellishments too and I have one primary folder. In that folder, I have many folders. I've named the folders (buttons, ribbons, flowers, ABC's, Butterflies, Hearts, Transportation, Holiday's, People, Baby's, Words & Poems) I have also made subfolders within some of these folders example: holidays ( I have folders located within my Holiday Folder) such as 4th of July, Christmas, Halloween, Birthday, Easter). If you Right Click your folders, you can put in Alpha order. I have found this has been extremly helpful. I keep my PRIMARY folder on my desktop. Makes it easy to open it then drag and drop into the desired folders.

I have organized my downloads by websites. My favorite is SBB! I have a folder named Downloads SBB. In that folder I save each kit in a folder named SBB firstname lastname name of kit (SBB Dana Zarling Sweet Baby). This way each designer's kits are alphabetically listed or grouped together. Then I use Photoshop Elements 4 Organizer feature to catalog everything. You can attach tags easily and several tags per file. I have tags for paper, preview, designer, buttons/baubles, fibers etc. Once everything is tagged I can search for all files with a certain tag. Example a "paper" search results in all the papers I have cataloged and I just scroll through to see them. Was a big job initially but goes fast now I am caught up and catalog each kit as I get it. It's fun just to look through everything so easily. There are several different programs that offer this type of organizing. Hope this helps.
