Collage Templates

Is it possible to create our own collage templates, which will be options within the program?

I know I can use the templates that come with the program, for printing a collage of multiple photos. I'm wondering if I can create my own template (which I know I can do), and have it appear in the pulldown with the other templates....

I'd like to make templates, for example, based on the Simple Schemes layouts from Simple Scrapbooks magazine.

Thank you -
Marion

No. Can't be done. They are CAB files. It's just as easy to save them in a separate folder on your computer and just load them from there.

Templates

OK.... I didn't know they were CAB files (or what a CAB file was!).

When I create templates, I place colored shapes (usually a square or rectangle) where I want them. When I use the template, I use "Fill with Color or Texture" feature, and select a photo for each shape (this is my most favorite thing, and I learned it here a couple of years ago).

Is there a way to make my template behave like a CAB file? So all the open photos can be placed at one fell swoop into the shapes? And then I can move them around if I want? Or do I have to do it shape-by-shape (ie, photo-by-photo)?

For example, I'd like to create a template, that is basically about 88 squares (ie, 1" squares, 8 horizontally and 11 vertically). It's tediously boring to fill each square manually......

Thank you!
Marion

You can "Insert Picture from My Computer" and select them all but they will still need to be arranged on the canvas and lined up. You would also need to have them all already cropped/resized to 1"x1". Otherwise you'd have to do the "fill with colour or texture/Picture" as you are now.

As an alternative: Open DIP. Go to File Print. From the dropdown box, select General Labels and then template No. 8831 (66 squares) or 8851 (35 squares). Then open all the photos you want to use and follow the prompts. The size of the squares may be too small for what you want to do though. There are other categories/paper manufacturers you can look through. You may or may not find something that works for you.

Using the labels is an excellent idea; thank you.
It doesn't solve all my wishes, but it certainly solves some of them!

You can edit the templates too
open any pic - go to print > special etc
choose one of the templates as Kim suggested.
go through the steps and put just one photo in and then instead of choosing Print, tick the box that says Keep this File Open So I can save it
and then click Cancel
Then you can modify the template as desired.

Yes, I know that I can edit the template once I have a photo or two in it, and save it - but the edited version will not be available from DIP's pulldown of templates. It will only be available from a folder I make of templates.

So I still can't get all the photos to "pop" into my edited template.
I can only get that with the original templates, right?
