Library Question

I have been using Photoshop Album for organizing my photos, but I'm discouraged with it because I prefer a less graphic interface for the tag names, Adobe doesn't seem to be offering upgrades, and - most importantly - there's no way (that I know of) to export the tags etc that I've associated with each photo.

If I switch to the Library, is the keyword info attached to the photo and available in an exportable database?

Sorry if I'm not being clear with my question....

Thanks

The database for the Library can be found in the programs files. Depending on the version you are using it is called either pod or pod2 or pod3. I don't know if it would be exportable to other programs though. Word of warning though. If at any time you need to reinstall DIP, make sure you save a copy of the database file first or you will have to start over.

I downloaded the trial of the program to play with it. I like the interface better than Album (it's just cleaner and easier on my eyes).

However, I'm wondering if it has either of two features that Album has, which I haven't been able to find.....

Album has a feature called STACK (which can be used when you have a bunch of photos from the same event, so you can place one on top and stack the others below it, so you're looking at fewer photos on the screen)

Another feature is called VERSION SET; let's say I have a photo, and then I fix the eyes, and delete a scratch. I can save the original photo and the edited one, in a Version Set (again, so only one photo will appear in the main screen).

Any ideas if Library has this?

Thank you!
Marion

I don't use the library much - too lazy to tag everything LOL - but I don't think it does what you asked. If I edit a photo I just save it with a different file name and it just shows up in the library along with all other photos.

Hi Shellyrae -
Thanks for confirming that DIP doesn't have those features from Album. I still think I like it better!

Did I read correctly that you have a baby in the house?
Congratulations!
