have you figured out how to open a blank 12X12 document? Also I had trouble opening a photo with a large # of pixels. I received an error message saying that MDI doesn't support that many pixels. I cant remember how many it was but the photo was large and I scanned it in to my computer wih a very high resolution.

File/New. Adjust the size and resolution if necessary.

Talking upgrade?

Is there a way to upgrade my 2005 DIP version to the 2006?

No. MS doesn't do upgrades. You have to buy the new program.

Can I not use VP in the starter edition? I found the plug-ins folder on my C drive, but I can't find it in the program. Am I just not looking in the right place? I also wanted to add Shellyrae's rounded corners, but there isn't an option for artistic edges. Pooh! Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Kellie

The trial version doesn't have all functions working. It may not be possible to use plugins. They are found: Effects/Plugins. If that option is working you can then browse to the location of your plugins folder.

i've been using several trial editions of photo/image editing programs to try to decide which to buy. MS Dig Im Starter Ed seems decent, but you're right: a lot of the tools aren't available and I'm not even sure how many of the advanced options are available with their software that you buy. I would really appreciate any opinions about other programs like adobe, corel, and any others that might better suit my needs. I have a lot of OLD photos that I need to sharpen, denoise, and use advanced options to correct tears and fading. Anyone got any recommendations? Thanks! I am REALLY enjoying this site!
