Text in a circle?

Is there any trick to this? I am trying to make text in a circle for a little date stamp...it will not size correctly...the font is too large and circle not the right size and resizing isn't working? Any other tricks?
Thanks, Nancy

Are you using Shaped text?
Text > Shaped Text - choose the circle.
TYpe in your text..make sure you push teh space bar after the last word to ensure there is a space between the first and last words.
Choose your font - it works better with some fonts more than others so experiment with similar fonts.
Use the corner resize handles to adjust the size of the circle as desired.

Does that help?

The less words you have, the bigger the font will be. Unfortunately not all fonts work well so you just need to play until you get one that looks good. You can also try this: After you type in your text, go to Format/Font and check the "stretch to fit" box. Try also checking the "make same height" box to see if that helps.

I was playing with shaped text the other day, I found an interesting use for it. If I do a whole bunch of them (same size) and line them up, they look really cool.

And if you use dingbats you could make a great border too.
