Question DIP 10 Library question...

Can you use an external drive with the library? I can't seem to get it to read the files. I just get an empty folder when I try to import the pics. I want to get all my scrapstuff moved over to the external but I have a feeling all my hard work of organizing kits is going to go down the drain if I do so. Anybody?

As far as I know, it should work. I import files from a CD/DVD fine so I don't see why importing from a external drive should be any different. John Inzer may have the answer though. He'll probably see your post.

I too think that there should not be a problem. I use an external hard drive; I have all my digi stuff on the external one. Sometimes, when I first turn the external hard drive on, the computer does not recognize it right away. Then I go to My Computer, View, Refresh and then it shows in the list of drives. Once it’s there I can use it without any problems.

One thing I found is that the data transfer between my computer and the external hard drive is rather slow. It seems to become slower the more stuff I put on it. I am using USB2 cable but just a regular USB connection, this slows things down considerably. So, maybe your configuration is similar and maybe this slow data transfer could be the problem?
