Big Problems with MS Digital Image Suite 10

I've just purchased and installed DIS 10 on my Windows 98 computer. When I try to access Frames and Mats from the Effects/Edges menu, I get the message:

The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for might have been removed or had its name changed.

Please try the following:
Open the s: home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
If you still cannot open the page, click the Internet Explorer
Search button to look for similar sites.
Internet Explorer

The same thing happens when I try to access Create a Project from the File menu. Everything else seems to be working fine except for these two items. MS Tech help have done their best to help me, but to no avail - the problem cannot be solved. To check that the disk isn't faulty, I had a friend install it on his computer and it worked just fine. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be? I'd be grateful for any suggestions as I don't know where to go next.

I don't know why it would do that but my suggestion would be to uninstall it and then reinstall it...maybe there was a problem with the installation the first time.

Hope you get it figured out cause DIP is an AWESOME program!

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled twice, but still no luck. MS tech seem to think it may be something wrong with Internet Explorer, but can't find out what.

Couple of ideas: 1) trying emptying the temp internet files & cookies in Internet Explorer. 2) In IE, click on Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and under Browsing is a selection to "reuse windows for launching shortcuts" uncheck it if it's checked then try DIP10 again. One more thought, are you running any type of firewall or Internet security program? You may have to check a setting in there. Hope this helps....Lori

I'd be inclined to think it may be a conflict with Windows 98 as well.
The best advice I can give is to head over to teh MS DIP newsgroup and ask there..John can then pass your problem onto the team that actually developed Dip instead of the general MS Help mob.
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx choose English from the list then Home publishing then PictureIt! an dpost there.

Running Disk Cleanup, scandisk and defrag may help. Also, have a look at the following KB article:

(870630) How to resolve problems that occur
with the JET component and with the MDAC
component
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=870630

Also you might try reducing your Graphics Hardware Acceleration as per the instructions in the following article, (If you see and improvement, it's a strong indication that your Video Driver needs to be updated)

(272193) PI: How to Troubleshoot
Graphics Issues

When installing Digital Image Pro your virus scanner should be disabled also if you have an HP OfficeJet it should be disabled also. This is discussed in a readme file on disk one along with some additional installation tips.
