Smile How do you share your pages?

I am new to DIP 10. How does everyone share their work with their friends and family? Do people send attachments that are zipped? Or do people set up albums on-line somehow? I was curious what was the best way. I am a little concerned about download time, my in-laws still have dial up. What would people recommend as my settings, i. e. dpi for an 8 1/2 X 11 pages to send to people as attachments?

If you just want to show your relatives you can "save for email or web" and then the attachment is smaller in size. If you want to send them so your relatives can have them printed out you can just zip them. You can also set up a Yahoo Briefcase set to "friends" so they can download them or upload them to Photo Bucket or similar photo storage site.

I mostly share with my husband and with my sister. I send full-size pages to my sister who likes to print my pages for her own album. She lives 7,000 miles away in Europe. I have not seen her in 5 years. Sharing scrapbook pages is a great way to keep track of family happenings and growing kids.
When I send pages to my husband, I resize the pages to "large e-mail view." My husband is currently serving oversees and he loves receiving my scrapbook pages per mail to keep track of what the girls are doing.

Right now I don't do anything other than post here. My plan is to get each set of grandparents an album and then print 8x8's throughout the year for them.

I print my own layouts for home (8x8) and save on a disc for later printing (or better quality printing), and then save a smaller version, as stated before, for email. They come across nice and large on screen when I email but aren't large in size. I had to play with different saving methods to get the look I wanted from their end and now I just do it that way always. For those using PS CS who are interested I reduce my 8x8 page (image-image size) to 1.7 inches and save the jpeg as a quality level of 7 and that seems to be just about perfect. Good luck

Also, when I print my 8x8's at home (I use an 8 1/2 x 11 paper), I use the left over 2 1/2 inches at the bottom to print a small layout (I can get three across the page) and I give these to my 5 year old who keeps them in a small photo album and is just thrilled every time I give him a new one.

If you wanted to share them with others so they could print them at home you could save a copy of your layout at 200dpi, 8.5x11 and as a jpg. This would create a reasonable print for them and after you zip the file may be more manageable for dial up download. If you post your layouts in a gallery like here at SBB your relatives could check here and "order" the ones they want for you to send them. This is what i personally tend to do. My parents etc check my gallery regulary and i send them the layouts they want.
You could also wait til you have a few and burn them to disc and send them to them.

I don't send a lot because I'm new, but I will usually just upload them here & then send the link to my gallery around to DH at work, my sister in college, my mom across town, etc. Eventually when I get enough LOs I'll print them out into albums & brag books for family, but this works well for now.

I print everything at home (11 x 8.5). When I visit my parents(6-8 times a year), they scan anything they want to have a copy of.
