zipping a file

right click on the file you want to zip

send to compressed file

it sends it to a zipped file, you can then drag/drop other files into that zipped folder, and you can rename it if you want.

If you are using Winzip you just right click on the file and select "add to zip". You can then keep the same name or rename it if you prefer.

Sounds like you have enough answers, but I too just save it as a jpeg if I am going to send them via e-mail or share them via the web.

Though what I do most often is just print them off and put them into my album and people look at them that way... But I also burn them to a disk so that I will always have that back up.
