Lightbulb Black & WHite Photo with One Other Color

Does anybody know how to add one color to a black and white photograph? For example, how make flowers in a black and white picture turn yellow, but not everything else. I tried a paint brush and it was really sloppy.

What I do is duplicate the photo, turn the top photo to black and white, then use your eraser tool on the top photo and the colours will show through from the bottom picture. If your picture is an original black and white your only option would be to colourize using a paintbrush, chalk, pen etc, with a soft setting. I use PhotoImpact, bu not many people here do, but I am sure this is the way with most other programs.

Hope this helps!
Holly

If you are starting with a B&W photo and want to add colour:

Select the part you want to colour with the suitable selection tool.
Go to Touchup/Color and Saturation.
Adjust the color sliders until you have the look you want.
