different colors

Hi,

don't know if this is the right forum, but since I work on my new notebook, I just can't seem to print the same colors as I see on my screen, and I mean totally different colors, like brown on my screen and grey on the printed layout. Even the colors from an old layout that I used with the eyedropper tool into a new layout come out totally different then I see them on my screen. Is this just a question of settings on my new notebook, or should I do more complicated things to set this right?

Many thanks for any suggestions!

Jen

You might have to syncronize the color display on you screen with your printer. You'll find the how to under help on your computer. However, your problem sounds more like a problem with your printer/print quality. Clean you nozels, make sure your cardriges have sufficient ink and you are printing on your best print setting.

I find this between my desktop and my laptop. the color on my laptop is completely different to my Desktop..different typ eof screen too which make s a difference.
Your first call would be to calibrate your Notebook screen. You can do this by following the instructions in the Help files of your operating system eg Windows and then with DIP 10 you can go to Tools> Options> Color management and set it to map to your printer- you will need to plug your printer into your notebook to set this up ( see the DIP help files for help with that)
If none of that works then you may need to have it calibrated by experts..it is actually a pretty complicated process but hopefully what i have suggested should be enough.

You should also do basic maintence on your printer ( see your printers help files) to ensure that the cartridges are not emptying or there are any blockages
