Newbie Circle Journal #7

anyone wanna join? I'm new here and thought this would be a great way to meet people. I've been digi scrappin for a little under a year and working pretty steadily on my BOM since January. Lets start a new group and make some new digi scrappin friends!

Hi Bonny,
just subscribing to your thread for group 7 so I can keep on the watch.... if you get 6 people and you would like me to be your host, then I'll need everyone to PM me the following:
Real Name, SBB name and email address.

I'll tell the other scrapper to come here to sign up.

Good to meet you,
Yazo

Sorry, what is a circle journal?
I would be happy to join if I know what it is .... been scrapping since December.
I find it difficult to attend chats due to time differences and work commitments.
Thanks,
Melodi

a circle journal is where you have 6-8 people who each pick a theme. whatever you want. like one person could pick favorite seasons, one could pick favorite books and another oculd pick advice for children. etc. Then each person in the group does a layout for the other's books. Since this is digital there is no mailing of the books around the world. We would have a different layout to do each month and then email them (not sure how this part works!) to the "owner" of that themed journal. Then the next month, you'd do another persons layout. At the end, each person has 6-8 layouts in their chosen theme and has done a bunch of fun layouts themselves.

I've never done a digi one before, so not sure on all the little details. But Sheryl is going to be helping us! woohoo!!

I see... I think!
Do you get to swap photos as well? Or scrap your own photos for each other's theme?

Hi Melodi,
Yes, Bonny hit it right on the nose! Maybe this will also help and also check out these links I made for explaining about CJ groups (below)
.
Well, just imagine the end result... Lets say you told your team mates that you've always wanted to own a scrapbook album filled with pages with "Funny Animal Stories and Pictures" that you could read to your kids. So you ask your team mates, "... will you each make for me a layout of the funniest animal story you ever heard? Then send it to me via email or using www.yousendit.com , so I can print it out and make my album." If everyone in the group made you a page like that, you'd have 6 or 8 pages with funny animal stories and pictures to fill your album and read to your kids at night! Wa La!! You would create your own "cover" page and get everyone in the group to give you their names that you would put on "tags" for your "signature" page...and that is it.

Hope that all helps!

Wow, Melodi, what a cool idea! Never thought of swapping photos in the group, but since there are no hard and fast rules in CJ'ing, you could really choose whatever you want. If you want to give others photos to work with then you would state that in your instruction sheet. Neat idea!
