Kate, I thought for sure I had typed about that! I'm so sorry! Everyone needs to tell Leah what letter and primary "thing" you are using for that letter. that way, we'll know that we are duplicating numbers. Leah is also from England, so some words have different meanings. OK, so I'm just going to paste here what Leah said to me....
I'd like to have some basic principles that will help to make this reasonably usable and consistent as an alphabet book -- sorry if this comes out as overly prescriptive.
* Have the main text as e.g. "Aa is for apple" (i.e. Uppercase and lowercase of the letter you're doing).
* Please try to make the "Aa" letters pretty big in the context of the page and have one main thing that they are for -- although if you want to have other things that begin with that letter also worked into the layout, then that would be really neat.
* If possible can you use a font that doesn't have the loopy bits on the lowercase "a" and "g" that you only get in printing (I'm sure there's a technical term for that)?
Also, I'm in the UK and some of the words we use are different and sometimes our spelling is different -- so it may be an idea to check with me the word you're planning to use if you're unsure. Try to avoid candy, cookie, crib, sidewalk, suspenders and vest, for example.
so, lets post some alphas and ideas! Leah, I would like to do B for bicycle. thanks!!
