ohww the process of a book I tell you it takes LONG.....
- okay first you take an old book, a bucket of wallpaper glue, and rubber gloves. Then you open the book in the middle, and you start glue-ing the pages to eachother, both to the own side of the cover. carve a hole on the left or right depending where the figure comes, curl the edges from the last few papers.
- Let it dry for 48 hours.
- Paint the book in a groundpaint let dry for 24 hours.
- Take patina finish, and paint the book, after about an hour after adding the patine take an old cloth and smudge and smear the book, it gives the old gunged textured look.
- Get good crafting clay, like cernit or fimo, and craft the troll head and hands. Make sure to add wrinkels and such.
- burn the clay in the oven
- paint the lips the color you want and let dry
- smudge the face and hands with patina to give the dirty look
- go to craft supply store and buy grasses, acorns, feathers and other elements to give your troll hair and add the finishing touches to the corners.
- write a poem
- print in any style you like on plain white paper
- tear or cut the paper in shape
- add patina and smudge again to give an old look
Usually I glue together 2 or 3 books at a time and in the time it dries I craft the heads of my trolls and witches. seek the decorations and make the perfect poem.
The one displayed in the layouts are all special made for friends and about 10 inches high.
I also sold some of them on craft markets, together with my beaded trees, 3Dcards and other clay objects.....need to be scanned
