Question Hinges/hiding journaling, how do I do it?

Hi! Can someone please tell me how I can do the following?

In this layout: http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/galle...64&ppuser=7578 I want to hide some journaling under the middle photo of the set of three photos on the right. I want the journaling to be on the black mat so I want to make it so that I can flip up the picture in order to see the journaling underneath it. How can I do that? I guess, how can I "hinge" the photo so that I can lift it up? In addition, is there a way to put the page in the plastic sheet protector and still have the ability to lift the photo up without taking out of the sheet protector? I really hope I am making my questions clear.

I don't know digitally how you could do that, but you could take your photo off, put the journaling on and then print the page. Then print the photo and use hinges or whatever to attach to the top of your printed page. You could cut a slit in a page protector to slide the photo through so that only that photo is on the outside of the protector. (It's been a long time since I've really looked at paper products - they may actually make some sort of protectors that may work better for this. ) Then you could create a small photo size protector that would just cover the photo on top of the page protector. Creative Memories used to sell photo sleeves that would work, but I don't know if they still carry them or if someone else would.

Someone esle who has paper scrapped more recently or has more hybrid experience may have a better suggestion.

When I paper scrap, I do a lot of pages like this. If you're going to make a hybrid page, I would do the following:
1. Remove the middle photo from your digital page and replace it with journaling. Print.
2. Print the photo you want to cover the journaling, leaving a 1/2-inch border on the top.
3. Fold the border back so that it is behind your photo. Use this as the hinge and adhere to your layout. You may want to print on it to make the color match your background. I like to use a sewing machine to attach the hinge to the page--sometimes glue doesn't hold as well for me.
4. Insert your page into a standard page protector. Using masking tape or some other removeable tape, mark on the page protector a line that is where the top of your hinged photo opens--you will need to cut a slit in the page protector for the photo that is slightly longer on than the top edge of your hinged photo.
5. Remove your page from the protector and insert a piece of cardboard or something to keep you from cutting in to the backside of the protector. Use a craft knife (X-acto) and a ruler to carefully slit the top layer of the page protector along the line you marked with the tape...it should be 1/4 inch wider on each side than your hinged photo.
6. Remove the tape and cardboard and insert your page carefully, making sure to slip your hinged photo through the slit.

I have many, many pages with these types of interactive elements in them and have never had a problem cutting into a page protector. There might be some way you could find a special protector for the hinged photo, but I've never needed one...

Hope this helps! Have fun with your project!
