Let me start by saying...What an Awesome kit!!!
Here's how I created the layout!
1. Chose my papers a pretty much created my entire layout digitally, except for the torn paper, I just left that covering the hole page.
2. To print the pieces I deleted things I didn't need, or wanted seperate from the paper. For the left side, I needed everything...stitching, and titling, but deleted everything from the right side and printed...because I was tearing out a portion of the paper in the middle, I was able to just print on legal size paper. For the right side, I deleted everything but the butterfly and printed out as the left side. Then I printed out the green background paper that shows between the torn top pieces. Last I printed my pictures (seperated from each other so I could cut them out and layer them how I needed) and the butterfly - I printed these on a "lustre" paper because I think it looks AWESOME. Now for the fun!
3. I used a piece of 12x12 white cardstock as my base, adhered the green paper in the middle. Trimmed the excess white from my left side panel and tore down the right side. I punched holes on torn edge and inserted mini brads. Then I adhered to the left side of my cardstock. I did the right side the same as the left side, trimmed excess white, tore down left and punched holes and inserted brads, then adhered to right side of my base.
4. Know I took several colors of embroidery floss and wound around brads in random order, cutting some and leaving a tail. When I liked the look, I trimmed the tails fairly short and seperated the threads.
5. I added "gemstones" to the stitched border on the left side and a button to dot the "i" in spring.
6. I cut out my pictures and adhered to page in appropriate place (similar to where I had placed them in my digital layout).
6. I cut out my extra butterfly copy (I just cut off the antennae), scored around butterfly body and slightly folded the wings up for added dimension, and then glued the bod portion onto the body portion on the printed page. I added more bling to the butterfly's wings and glitter glue for the antennae.
7. To finish, I punched several holes at top right and wound a narrow satin ribbon around the edge of page and tied the ends in a knot.
