Printing X_Mas Cards

Hello!!!!!
OK...Help me out here...Where do you have your cards printed???? I like the 4x8 size card..but I cant figure out where to have them printed. All the ones I have seen have a spot for a picture but then you have to type your message in "their" box. I want to do the whole thing myself.
I hope this makes sense.
Any help/ideas are appreciated.

Thanks so much
Wendy

Hi Wendy-
Betty posted in another thread asking about winkflash- they do have 4x8's and they are 35 cents including the envelopes. I'm going to try them this year!

http://www.winkflash.com/content/photocard.asp

NEVER MIND THEY DO HAVE BORDERS- YOU CANNOT HAVE YOUR PHOTO ON THE WHOLE CARD

Sorry- I'll keep looking!

You know I was looking for someone who would do this last year and ended up settling for PhotoWorks. They at least had plain borders.

I wonder if we should contact one of these photo processors and ask if they'd do a full 4x8 card from a high-res image. I'd bet most of them don't know that there are tons of us out here creating our own Christmas cards who don't want their cheesy borders.

ok- I thought I saw this somewhere-LOL!

Lisa (Leewinz) recommends whcc.com see the 4th question from the bottom here:
http://whcc.com/faqs.html

Here's the pricing page:
http://whcc.com/output_cards.html 4x8's are 45 cents including envelope- not bad

The site is a little difficult to navigate because it's hard to see where the links are, but they sound like a very professional company!

This sounds like a good place for 4x8's, but I think winkflash is cheaper for the standard sizes.

I've been printing my own on glossy photo paper, then just cut them out and mount them up onto card stock. I like doing it this way because then I can personalise each one for whoever I'm sending it to. I make most of my birthday cards this way too.

Laurie - I love your new avatar, Alicia is beautiful

VERY confusing! I can't figure all that out! LOL!. I had a hard enough time getting things ready for a hardbound book.

I hope there is something else. Or if anyone has used that WCC, is there an easy way to do it? A language I can understand?

WHCC

Ok Ladies,
I just got my package from WHCC...It is a little intimidating, but I am going to try and figur it out.
It looks to me like you NEED Photoshop, although I am not certain about this. I hope someone who uses WHCC will see this & offer up some advice!

I also called WHCC & told them about this forum, hoping they would check it out & offer up some answers for us.

From what I see they really are a GREAT place to have stuff printed.

Thanks ALL!
Lets hope we get some answers.

Wendy
