Question What paper for Canon i9950

Can anyone help me - I am considering buying a Canon i9950 printer but need to do some homework about the best and or cheapest A3 photo paper so I can work out costs for printing before I commit to spending such a large amount of money.

The Canon paper is perfect - the best quality! However, you are in Australia, yes? You might want to check out the OfficeWorks paper too. Here in Canada I use Staples brand which is the local office store here.

I use both photo glossy and photo matte.

I have the Cannon i850 which I love, but envy you because I'd love to get the new i 990. My favorite paper with mine is hp premium photo paper but I also use Staples Premium photo paper. The staples brand isn't as heavy a paper but the print seems to come out just as good. The only paper I don't like at all with it is Kodak. It always looks like the ink is sitting on top of the paper. Good luck and have fun.

I always thought you were supposed to get the same kind of paper as the brand of your printer. I have an HP 5550, so I buy HP photo paper. My aunt has an Espon, so for her birthday I was going to get her Epson photo paper. Am I confused? It wouldn't be the first time!

I have a Canon i9100 and spent a lot of time searching for an affordable paper that looks as good as the Canon paper and I found it. I've started buying paper from Red River Paper (www.redriverpaper.com). The 13x19 (which I believe is the A3 size) is 50 sheets for $49. It's not the cheapest but it is considerably less expensive then Canon's and the paper is gorgeous. I get the UltraPro Satin which has the luster surface that photo lab matte paper has. And it is a heavy paper so it slides into page protectors beautifully. And the color quality is great. They even have color profiles for their papers that you can download which makes the color even better. Hope this helps.

Ouch..$1 per page is steep.. but it is large size. I have a i960 and only use Ilford paper - I've found it to get the best results. 8.5 x 11 runs about $14 per 75 sheets in BJ's - the exact name is Printasia. I also use the better quality Ilford for special photo printing (8x10 gallery shots - that does cost about $.75 a sheet but I don't scrap with it). Good luck!

I have the Canon i9900 and I don't use anything but Canon paper with it. I buy the 13x19 Canon matte photo paper from newegg - last time I checked, it was a 20 sheet package for 11.99 wiht 4.99 fedex shipping. Amazon was selling the same paper for $21.95 a package!

I love the matte paper and if you put it in a page protector, it's glossy!
